Click Here ppt.ppt 08-09-2010 Then Click Again The committee has decided that the new champ will be picked and the trophy will be presented at John Arnos’s home after the Open. The champ and the trophy will also be presented at the reunion. To Everyone “on-the-list”, The $40 I quoted was an estimate and after the final catering has been arranged, with tax and 18% (yes, eighteen) “service charge” the total comes out to be $55 per guest. To those who had sent in their $40, if you could make-up the balance at the game, I’d appreciate it, and those who sent in the original higher amounts, you will still be getting a refund. Keep in mind this IS the Dana Suite, contributed at NO COST by Shirley Tarschis of Dana Corporation and it is an all-you-can-eat style buffet with 3 snacks (make your own nacho chips, salted peanuts in the shell and fresh popped popcorn), 3 entrees (turkey Torpedo sub, chicken breast and Polish sausage “on-a-bun”), lots of Toledo’s famous Betty’s salad, premium bottled beers (Corona, Stella Artois, Molson Canadian and Bud Light Lime (for the light weights)) and soft drinks (root beer, Pepsi and diet Pepsi, with additional freshly sliced sweet potato chips with brown sugar and jalepeno poppers. Yes, it’s making me hungry too. So, bring your appetites, thirst and love of baseball. Look FWD to seeing everyone at the event, and your tickets will be at the First Base Will Call ticket window on Washington Ave. Come as early as 6 P.M. on Thursday August 12th at the downtown Toledo stadium. Any further questions or problems, please do not hesitate to contact me at the above email or directly at my cell phone (305) 992-6926. Peace, Over & Out, Captain Bob (Swany) Swanson John Arnos has cordially invited the golfers to stop by his house after the Gantzo’s Open for refeshments and a dip in his pool. We will at that time pick a new champ and present him or her with the trophy. Of course if the champ is a TAD they will be expected to show it off at the reunion!! The Wet Sun Light Show has been reborn. Check it out at http://toledocitypaper.com/index.php?/A-E/Art-To-Heart/lights-music-action.html and at http://www.wetsunlightshow.com/ Gantzos Open on Sat Aug 14 at 9am. There are 7 tee times set for us with a cost of $34 with a cart. Hope to have a large turnout with the reunion later that same night. Please e-mail at tuper52@bex.net if you plan on playing so we can have enough tee times for everyone. Jim Fry To Everyone who responded previously, Thank You !! I will be firming up the final list shortly and be requiring deposits/payments for the suite(s). To those who are still “on the fence”, think about it and RSVP, so I can include you on the “final” list. I have about 24-26 people so far and it’s JUST under six (6) months until the game. This IS the Thursday before the Friday at Venturas, Saturday Gantzos Memorial golf tournament AND 40th reunion at the Toledo Zoo (and Sunday “recovery” party ? Any volunteers to Host that ??). Please, reconsider if you had decided not to come to the game previously and if you can’t afford the “full” $69/person, don’t worry ! There will be a “hardship” slush fund available, so don’t rule yourself out for lack of a few dollars. Looking FWD to expanding on my list of participants, Captain Bob (Swany) Swanson (305) 992-6926 P.S. If you don’t see someone’s email address on here that I should have, let me know AND let others (even possible non 1970 TAD Grads) know about this important weekend’s events ! Let’s make this the best reunion yet and even MORE memories that we can take into our sunset years before we start forgetting all the GOOD stuff ??? Here is another grainy, dark, out-of focus movie made by a handful of DeVilbiss High School Class of 1970 juvenile delinquents. This is The Card Game, starring Chuck Weinblatt, Ken Brochin, Terry Greene, Chuck Weissfeld and a host of other DHS rejects. It’s on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIY-7rnhDXM. This film actually has credits, which might be the best part. Were we ever that young? Warning: this could be eight minutes of your life that you’d like back! Chuck Weinblatt Movie from 1969 filmed mostly at Bob Swansons house on Calverton. Check out the Chevy it still looks the same. The movie starred Phil Hazard, Bob Swanson, Jim Fry, Bernie Mast, Mark Scharlow, Becky Thompson, Dennis Mussery, Frank Shible, John Ferns and Debbie Montrie |
